I am writing this to address an oddity I have become aware of. Between those who are capable and those who are successful there appears to be a gap of reason. There are those who are talented and yet never achieve a measure of success, while others with limited abilities excel. The magazine answer to this discrepancy are things such as hard work, measure of luck, right place at the right time, persistence etc., and while I’m sure these factors affect the overall situation I’m not convinced that’s all there is to it.
I’ve been becoming aware of the possibility that there are other things that are factoring into the overall life experience. Certainly religion has indicated for centuries that such possibilities exist, but beyond the concepts of belief in a deity and prayer there haven’t been a lot of details given as to how to connect to those external forces. I wouldn’t discredit them as being of no great value – but what I’m trying to learn and understand is, on some level, how all this works.
Perhaps I’m referring to a higher power – the power of faith, or something else. I’m beginning to believe that faith in oneself doesn’t work on it’s own – rather the combination of understanding and belief in higher truths bring those things that are not into the things that are.
It is the correct combination of belief in the right things, and understanding what things those are, that ultimately creates change? Of course, physical effort must be utilitized, product must be created – but even both of those stem from the initial belief that they are possible.
We believe things for two different reasons:
One – we have accomplished something similar in the past and so use that reference to believe it can be accomplished again in the future; and two – we believe that something can occur because we have a reference to an understanding that allows us to bridge the gap in reality that is required to physically bring it about.
It is during this gap that many differing opinions exist.
Perhaps all we do is initialize a belief system in some form.Perhaps belief and faith are the most major contributors of success. Perhaps there is a supreme cosmic order in which we are but little pieces. Perhaps my fever makes me delirious.

Belief and faith are vry much needed as nicely put by you..otherwise frm where will we get a meaning for this life.
Faith makes us feel our life is different frm others..deep down everybody beleives they are unique in this world and this is the biggest lie..yet i would like to believe it.
Hey, do u know Plato’s allegory of the cave?…it’s realted to Life, its meaning….and all that….
Belief, faith….success…..hmmm……
Dont totally agree with u, not that i disagree, but something is missing……
thinking takes too much effort and procastination rocks!
“when you really want something to happen, the whole universe conspires so that your wish comes true”
and for that to happen, i guess u need to have this conviction that beyond everything, you deserve it.
and sometimes the belief stems from this need to prove something to yourself, to your loved ones and especially to the people whom you know are praying to see you fail.
hmmm…the world conspires quote…from the alchemist…well that seemed like, its dependant on the perception….u tend to see things that are favorable to you….i guess..
but yeah belief and faith in urself….are the neccessities for any task…
Nice post But shud have added a good title to it…

As everyone said…a nice post..I do agree with you as I myself have seen such things happening but maybe if you could think more on this and provide us answers beyond whatever said till now.
Hope to see an update soon.
I believe that God or whatever your supreme power is the personification (talking about centaurs, need to revise that word) of your faith and belief.

hmmm.. the past does haf a lotta effect on how ur beliefs are based and also the references play a huge role.
but haf u ever thot about it.. beliefs are based on more how ur parents want u to believe and not many others haf that huge of an impact on u..
i mean, u know the gap is filled with ur parents mostta the time!
i agree with u about the gap…but you should have shown the path the fill that gap…
should have posted more about it….waiting for update…
